bougainvillea sketch [two pages in my #TrippingThisLife4 sketchbook]

​My first sighting of the bougainvillea plant was in California while visiting Ken’s mom in San Diego. Initially, I was simply attracted to its vibrant, paper-like leaves in triplicate.  And for some time now, whenever & wherever I see pink, yellow, orange bougainvillea shrubs in bloom, I think about backyard gardens, our Moms, my Loves, our children…​
with gratitude, my heart is beyond full. 

​​​While on the road, I bring my sketchbook as a space for making art and doing a little work;
essentially, it is my free-to-explore "studio" whether I'm at the gallery or elsewhere. 
Over the years and through its pages, I have been deeply fortunate to find sweet inspiration and my most creative moments while spending time with people I love, cherish, adore... near and far, I hold you in my heart.
