Samantha's garden hydrangeas...

October 8, 2025 - for Samantha, art request made with garden hydrangeas [left/A, middle/B, right/C]

Central to this art request is Samantha and her garden hydrangeas.
During this process, the beauty of nature's changing colors, textures, and patterns
contributed to a fresh and contemporary interpretation of Samantha's hydrangeas
as abstracted garden arrangements on chosen art surfaces.

In total, I created six pieces...
1 panel 8"x 8" x 3/4" [SD Garden, hydrangeas no. 1];
2 "tester" small works [SD Garden, hydrangeas no. 2a & no. 2b];
and the final 3 panels, each 16" x 20" x 3/4" (depth) mixed media, titled
for Samantha, art request made with garden hydrangeas [left/A, middle/B, right/C].
Completing this request fulfilled my core as an artist, pure FUN!

FUN fact no.1: Samantha [unknowingly] brought with her a first-of-its-kind guest to our gallery, hidden among the garden hydrangeas -- I named it, Kermit [the frog, of course] -- a sweet stowaway that Ken released into the flower pot just outside our storefront.

FUN fact no. 2: a natural finding for the focal point [detail, middle panel/B], I was able to preserve a double-stranded string of green spots [eggs?]
that remarkably stayed put on a large plant leaf -- perhaps they were left by Kermit? but then, maybe not -- I really have no idea what they were.

FUN fact no. 3: I got to work with Samantha and Tammy -- in designing and completing the final 3 pieces -- absolutely, I was delighted to be asked!
